Default Arabsat 2B at 30.5°E but clearly not - a sorry tale.

So I'm scanning Arabsat 2B at 30.5E for a laugh, and to my surprise, I find something!

The footprint says no:

http://www.satellitehelp.co.uk/forum...ic,5125.0.html

and only the one Ku beam, which could not possibly give the 50% signal strength I'm seeing.

So it's from 28.2E then?!?

Confused, I check the details.

4140 H 27500

My freshly-updated transponder list for Arabsat 2B from JoshyFun includes 4140, but this is C-band and according to Lyngsat on the 'High' beam and L-circ polarised.

The channels I've got are UK-based, so it's a coincidence. I realign the dish to 28.2E, and the signal level increases slightly to 60%. Hmmph.

I do some more checking of the channels, which are very familiar...

It's the transponder:

11261 H 27500 2/3 on Eurobird 1 at 28.5°E!?

Somebody please put me out of my misery... why on Earth would AltDVB V2.2 pick this up at 4140 indicated?

Anybody else see this behaviour? Am I missing something?
