Hi
Totally new to all of this. I am looking to get premiership football and believe I can do this buy watching foreign telly??? As you have probably guessed I have absoloutly no knowlegde of sattellite TV and haviuing spent the last 2 hours on this forum, I am now more confused - LNB's, different sized dishes, cards, card readers??? No idea! So my brief for all of you in the know...please tell me what to buy and do, so that I can watch (if this is possible) all of my beloved Liverpool's matches on telly. In addition I am a dad with kids so would like to avoid any of the telly nasties that might pop up...simple solutuions? Also how do I find out what will be on, and is it all in a foriegn language? I will really appreciate ant help on all of this! Many Thanks Anthony ![]() |

Let me be the first to say :welc4: to the forum mate
![]() Basically the best advice i can give you is to go for a Digitalb Supersport card ![]() You will also need a Conax or Multicrypt receiver, or a receiver that can accept a Conax CAM, something Like a Vantage or a Technomate 1000 series and a 90-100 cm dish pointing toward Eutelsat W2 @ 16e. A good quality lnb like a Sharp, Inverto or MTi will suffice for this ![]() Digitalb does broadcast some of the more exotic stuff if you go for the top package they do but these channels can be easily locked out by password on most receivers ![]() I think most of the games do have english commentary but this cannot always be 100% guarenteed. The listings for Digitalb can also be a bit hit and miss too ![]() The Technomate is probably the most supported receiver going at the moment. When its patched it can open up loads of packages on 13e and 19.2e for free I don't think there is much open on 16e atm but that could change at any time now that Digitalb has the rights to the British Premiership ![]() ![]() Nano CAM = Conditional Access Module

Cheers Nano
Brilliant info...a couple of follow up questions.] I am assuming that the card slots into the receiver and that who ever fittewd the dish would lnow where to point it in order to get that satellite? Also what are patches? Cheers Anthony |

The card baically fits into the receiver the same way the one from Sky fits in a Sky Digibox, unless the receiver needs a cam which is inserted into the cam slot on the receiver and then the card is fitted into the cam
![]() A patch is basically altered fimware (The software the receiver runs on) which allows the viewing of Pay TV without paying for it ![]() If you are using a dealer to install your setup he should Install the system and set everything up so you can watch TV as soon as he goes, although this may only be the free to air stuff. Unfortunately somethimes Digitalb do drag their feet to activate the card but it usually within 24hrs. Once activated you can watch as much TV as you want ![]() ![]() Nano

Hi Ant, a very big welcome to the forum.
Nano has pretty well covered everything, but I would add that as you are a Liverpool fan, it might be worth gettin a motorised dish. The difference in cost is relatively small but you may need to get the satellites at 19.2 east and 13 east to grab the Liverpool matches on odd occassions. Digitalb on 16 east dont always show the matches that we want and a search around other satellites is useful.

Yep, a good combination.
DigitAlb, a motorised dish and a patched receiver will get you more or less everything available (which still might not be everything, but as close as you'll get, and way better coverage than Sky/Setanta by far.) Plenty of good movies on some sats too, and most with English audio. Bonus!
