I bought an Arion AF-7000SE some years ago. Relatively, cheap, but easy to use and its worked fine (until now!)

Have had 'em all from converted bsb's through Echostar,Humax,Technomate and numerous foreign, not available in the UK types, then I went Linux, Eagle, great little box have settled on the VUplus duo, brilliant, now got DTT stick working and awaiting HDD to install, Easiest setup has to be Technomate. Vu plus gets my vote.

I know its not on this list but I find my Spiderbox 9000 HD to be amazing

I have DIRECTV and i love my reciever and wouldnt wanna get rid of it for ANYTHING!

Its an RCA and in my opinion THE BEST I COULD HAVE GOTTON FOR DTV!!

The speed is excellent,response couldnt be better......

They offered me one of THIER "HD" BOXS and i said "NO" several times.....

I dont want a crappy slow/bogged down box with stuff in it I DONT WANT!!

HD sucks,standard def is fine with me.. ALWAYS HAS BEEN

I think the technomate tm5402hd is the best basic satellite receiver at the moment as a single.tunet non linux stb

Now it can do cccam etc, which was missing on on non linux technomates

Low glitch software on very weak channels ... smooths it better
Good 3rd party sw support
Usals is spot on unlike some
Swaps to disecq 1.2 if nudged and saved
Card and cam slots
Reliable

Niggles
...............
No twin tuner model
Box graphic on zoom stays on
Low Sound issue
Records to non .ts but can be converted fast
Still using same box as 1000 series
Remote too busy for granny to use
