BT's hybrid digital terrestrial and internet protocol television (IPTV) service, BT Vision, has reportedly added an additional 24,000 customers over the past two months.
BrandRepublic said the telco's Premiership package was a key growth factor, and took its customer base to around 44,000 - more than twice the number of subscribers it said it had at the end of June. A BT Vision source contacted by BrandRepublic said the estimate of adding 3,000 extra customers per week to the service was on track. BT Vision's Premiership package - which includes live Setanta games - was a key factor in its growth. Last month consumer magazine Which? said set-top boxes it had tested took five weeks to install and "kept crashing, locking up and generally misbehaving". BT told Lovelace Consulting that the service Which? had experienced was "less than it should have been and we've contacted Which? to get more details".
