Default Triax Multi Pictures Wanted

Hi All

A while ago I came across some pics of a Triax Multi Bracket that had been modded to allow three of the LNBs to be close enough to pick-up Hotbird 13, Eutelsat 16e and Astra 19.2e, I think that there was also a 28.2e on there as well.

I'm thinking of going the same way and I thought it might give me a bit of guidance on which bits to take the hacksaw to...

Problem is that I can't find the photo again, does anyone else remember seeing this pic?

Don't know if these are the ones you were refering to

looking at it all you have to do is undo the screw holding the lnb holder in place, pull the holder out of the boom arm and then fit the new multi bracket in its place

You will also need the small ALPS lnbs to get that combination on your dish as normal ones won't allow you to get the lnbs close enough together

Hope this help and see no hacksaws required at all

Thanks Nano

Similar, but the ones I saw were (I think) fully wired up and in action, there was also a photo of the set-up on a workbench which gave some good detail of what had been trimmed down and how a brace bar was fitted. I definitely think some modification is needed to get such a tight range of Sats.

Yes, you might be right but I don't think the picture is on Satellite Help. I don't remember seeing one

You'll basically need to get either 16E and 13E hard up against each other either side of the central fixing, or 19E and 16E. They'll probably need to be so close as to be touching, so it's the inside of the two black brackets that would need to be trimmed down so that they can sit closer to the centre of the dish.

Each black bracket is offset too, so the left hand ones face inward toward the main dish LNB arm and the right hand ones face the other way, also toward the centre (like a reflection.)

If this doesn't work, you could make a bridging piece to sit between 13E and 19E LNBs to support the 16E LNB right over the centreline.

Will a Raven 90 do?

The 2 Alps LNBs are for 16e and 19e; the main one is at 13e while the last one is pointing to 7e though I sometimes move it to 1w (which I understand is good atm).

Thanks BigTee.

Looks like a reasonable amount of space between LNBs there (at least you could get a cig paper between them). Was it tricky to set-up?

Interesting that you don't have 16e on the centre, what's your signal strength/quality?

Found this on another forum

Nice tidy set-up. Triax multi bracket set-up to put one LNB centre over the arm and 13e and 19.2e either side. Gives a good signal apparently.

I think that this is what I'm going to aim for. Wish me luck...
