Hi
The back of my house faces east and the only place for a dish is on the back above the gutter. Existing installation is an 80cm. fixed dish on a 1.5m. pole supported by T and K brackets (18" / 450mm.) designed for TV aerials. it can be seen to sway in strong winds. I wish to replace it with a 100cm motorized dish on a 2m. pole (I calculate that this will let the dish see Hispasat). The larger dish and longer pole will double the wind load on the brackets. I have searched but cannot find any source of strong T and K brackets (18" / 450mm. overhang). Does anyone know of a supplier please? Does anyone have any other suggestions for installing the pole? TIA Baj

Hi Baj1936. Welcome to the forum.
Here is an example _http://www.brymar.co.uk/acatalog/TV_Brackets_Clamps_and_Plates_16.html If yours are like these and are not light weight then they should do the job. If not you could contact the board sponsor to see if they can help you. www.satscan.co.uk If the dish is swaying in strong winds, this could be more to do with the strength of the pole than the brackets. Are the brackets themselves flexing in the wind? I would certainly suggest a 2" diameter scaffold pole at the very least to give your 1 meter dish stability. Regards, Yorks ![]() |

I would go to a 3" mast for sure. Satellite Superstore do some monster brackets which will definitely solve the problem, but they're expensive.
Most people just use two sets of T&K brackets to spread the load over more fixings, but combining that with a 3" diameter mast is going to be the most effective upgrade in the anti-sway war IMO..

Thanks for your replies.
Satellite Superstore monster brackets are very expensive and almost impossible to install as they have no slotted holes to facilitate getting the pole vertical. I've gone for the two pairs of brackets solution and a 2.5m. x 50mm. pole (1m. above the gutter and 1.5m. below). Information:- JW Hardy do a vast range of fixtures and hardware - very helpful - have website (google 'em).

Thanks for your comments.
(I appear to have messed up my previous reply and it will not allow me to modify it, so here it is again.) I've decided to use two pairs of T and K brackets to support a scaffold 2m. x 50mm. pole with 1m. above the gutter and 1.5m. below (less torque on the brackets). Satellite Superstore monster brackets are very expensive and very difficult to install as the fixing holes are not slotted so getting the pole vertical is tricky. Useful information:- JW Hardy (google 'em) supply a vast range of fittings and fixtures of all sorts - very helpful on the 'phone. Barenco (no web site) will make almost any bracket (galvanized as well) to your specifications and design at a reasonable price. They specialize in fixing structures to the sides of tall buildings (that's what the man said on the 'phone). Very helpful. 'Phone number:- 01949 860607 Thanks again cheers Baj

Satcure due T&K's with a reach up to 24". Note you need to add vat & p&P onto their prices.

Many brackets could be hacked around anyway. The new Triax dishes take a mast up to 95mm diameter!
