Inverters wast energy, and when you only have a limited 12v supply you don't want to do that

yeah but i want to keep power consumption down and also weight, another little convertor box is another bit of weight that could be another can of cider i cant carry after all old vw vans are a tad slow!

Modern solid state inverters are very efficient.

Well i had a good look round the Tesco Extra near me today and theres no £10 Digiboxes to be seen anywhere. The staff have never seen them either

They must think were all too well off round here to need cheap freeview boxes

I've never been to get one and I have been going to the local Tesco every week since they were available to buy.

Since a few available to buy at the local corner shop for £18 tho

Don't care what kind of inverter you use they still wast energy. You never get something for nothing.
