Default Tiscali UK offers JumpTV's global channels

Internet service provider Tiscali UK has signed a strategic partnership with internet video aggregator JumpTV to make its live international TV library available on Tiscali UK's portal. JumpTV is making its proprietary video players - known as 'Jumpers' - available to Tiscali UK, which will be able to offer its subscribers access to live TV channels from Pakistan, India, Jamaica, Bangladesh, Lebanon and more than 70 other countries around the world.

Under the partnership, Tiscali users in the UK will be able to subscribe to any of JumpTV's 300 channels on a monthly subscription basis. Subscription revenues will be shared by JumpTV and Tiscali UK.

"At Tiscali, we understand how important video content is to our users, as the entertainment section is one of the most popular in our extensive portal," said Alex Hole, head of online at Tiscali UK. "By partnering with JumpTV and gaining access to one of the largest libraries of global television, we have expanded our internet television offering. This is an exciting venture and we are looking forward to working with JumpTV."

JumpTV president Kaleil Isaza Tuzman said: "This partnership with Tiscali UK fits with JumpTV's strategy of partnering with the top ISPs around the world as a primary means to expand our customer reach.

"Satellite and traditional cable TV providers have proven for years that there is a strong appetite for international television in the UK, as the country is a hub for Asians, Middle Easterners, Africans and continental Europeans. Couple these demographics with the UK's very high broadband penetration rate and you have JumpTV's second-largest target market after North America."
