No, not yet wod
![]() I'm trying to get a bigger pole (without paying for it) to replace the scaffold one I've got sticking out of the ground mount first. Needs to be no wider than 70mm OSD to fit inside the 3" pole. Then, I want to try and figure a way to fit the inclined orbit actuator so that it doesn't restrict the dish movement in any way. Beginning to wish I'd just got the normal version now : ![]() Plus, I'll need another positioner for the actuator. Beginning to wish you'd never asked yet? ![]() Kev

cant you get a 2.5inch pole instead that will work as its a bit more than 2inch pole so will grip the motor better
not much you can get with the inclined orbit version is it only 20west ? i'm thinking of risking it with 2 inch, as yours is ground mounted you should be fine

My old fella was supposed to be getting me some 60mm OSD stainless from work but it seems it's slipped his mind :
![]() The motor only came with the inclined actuator so, if I was going without it, I'd need to source the threaded bar to replace it :? If I could source one I'd probably get it all sorted now, before the onset of the big winter winds. I'd be happier using a larger pole TBH, but whether I ever get my hands on one is another matter : I take it that you're fitting yours to your 1m dish Wod? Good luck lumping it up them ladders m8 ![]() Kev

was going to build up the dish and bolt the motor to it and carry it up ladder but will it be too heavy ? as it should be about 15kg or is it more ?

I found it difficult enough carting the 128 motor and dish up the ladders but, then again, I was going up a lot more than 2 metre's when I first fitted mine.
15kg for the dish and motor sounds about right m8, maybe a tad more. What's the 1224 again? 12Kg? I wouldn't be comfortable carrying that motor up a ladder, especially while attached to a big dish. It must be three times the size and weight of the 128 ![]() It's just whatever you're comfy with I suppose, stick the dish on it and see what you think. If it's too heavy and awkward, then it's time for plan 'B', assuming their is a plan 'B' ![]() Kev

the 24 inch t&k brackets i ordered came today and my god are they massive, thought the 18's were large
looking the mounting holes they are indeed different so i guess its a metal file and some redrilling to do but no big deal. the holes for the pole surprisingly measure just over 3 inch so dont think i have to touch them going to place the dish just below the guttering, as will putting it a foot above the guttering place put more forces on the top bracket ? as this time k at the top and the t at the bottom as the k has that big brace bar on it, good idea ?

Won't give you any advantage swapping the brackets, the big boy is designed to go at the bottom.
Raising the dish above the gutter will increase wind loading, but I'm sure the brackets and mast you have will be fine. The mast material is more important than the brackets and fixings if you're going to extend it upwards IMO. Get the top bracket as high as you can to minimise the length of the mast sticking upwards. If you double the height of the dish from the top bracket, you'll double the force exerted on the mast at the point of clamping, which is why a 3" mast is better. Don't crush the mast here with the clamp or you'll destroy it's integrity. You'll also expose it to more wind too, but as I said - I don't think you're in any danger of it coming down. STICK

basically i want to put the dish where the sky dish is in the pic below so thats why i needed the longer brackets so it gives the added stand off to avoid the guttering
the t bracket is 5 courses down, so does it need to go any higher ? as for the mast the scaffold pole i have now is about 5mm thick so i doubt it will bend easily
