Hi,

First you need a twin or a quad LNB.

If you have a Sky Minidish, then get a quad from ebay or similar.

Then just run an extra cable to the 2nd receiver.

You only need a viewing card for the non-FTA channels.

Conect the extra box using SCART, if there are spare connections available.

Having multiroom would give you exact the same channels as you are currently subscribing.. I don't know why would want 2 different subscription.. Cheaper to have multiroom then have 2 different subs.

If you 2 STB's then you can watch what ever channel you want.. And your family can watch what ever they want. It wont effect you @ all when they change there channels and Vice versa.

Hi, we have a sky HD box in living room and want to use old sky + box in kitchen as freesat. How simple would it be to connect the box myself - i'm not hugely technical but will give things a go!!! Is it simply a case of getting up to the dish plugging in a cable and then plugging cable into box? If yes what kind of cable would you reccomend????

I read in a previous thread that it is possible to update your Sky+ box so that you can still record without paying the £10 - is this correct?

thanks loads

Ali

Yes its as simple as that mate and the cable you would want to use is the wf100. And you cant record without paying as its not possible. You have to pay the tenner to sky if you want to record on to there STB's. Unless your subscribing to there channels then its free.

Hi there... Noob alert so be gentle!

I have a similar question, I've cancelled my Sky+ HD sub so I now have a dish and sky+ HD box. I'm going to use this for Freesat now. If I was to aquire another sky box would I be able to use the second line (2nd cable of the twin cable) from the dish with the second box for Freesat?

Many thanks
