Default What Next

Hi,

I'm new to all this so go easy.

I've just got myself the monoblock LNB (Astra, Hotbird)
Topfield receiver, Diablo Cam Lite and loader card.
Can you point me in the right direction as what to do next.
(Programmers, etc).

Cheers Mac

Welcome mac

Sounds like all you need is a CAS3 programmer and some files.

Do you have your dish and monobloc up and running yet?

Hi BGonaSTICK,

I've and old analogue system at the moment, so I was hoping to just change over the single LNB for the monoblock and use the existing dish and cable.
But the company sent out the wrong LNB (a quad) so I'll have to wait a couple of day till the right one comes.
Is it easy enough to change the LNB's over?

Cheers Andy

Yes, pretty easy.

Some WD40 applied in advance might help if there is any rust in evidence.

Assuming that both LNBs have a 40mm collar fitting, clamp the Hotbird side of the monobloc and let the Astra LNB hang out on the right (viewed from behind the dish) then realign to Hotbird. Once found, twist the monobloc until Astra appears on the second output, then it's just down to a bit of fine tuning.

Ok Thanks,
I do that when the LNB's arrive.
I'll keep you posted as this could be a long drawn out affair.

Cheers

That's OK. We have a flask of hot coffee and an endless supply of cheesy gags to keep ourselves amused in the mean time

Hi BGonaStick,

Stuff arrived today, although the weathers not too clever up here in Glasgow, might wait till the weekend to fix the LNB.
Will keep you posted.
