Default It fell over:(

Testing the ACME Patent self-levelling dish system for the first time...& hey, it works

A week after we installed this I read the Andrews manual on here.....& knew we would be in trouble

Not so much strong gusts, as 'can only stand up when there's a lull'...................but we still didn't dig deep enough did we...

Dish looks undamaged,& one day this gale might stop.......14 hrs & counting at the moment.

Note how the old wobbly 1.0M dish behind it is OK. It's a 1" diam pole with random rocks badly cemented in place & has survived 6 yrs.

Well, if it isn't damaged, you learned a valuable lesson for free

Can't you get any reception from the dish positioned like that ? there must be some odd thing flying over once in a while

There are indeed.... lots of 'things' .... Lemons, tomatoes, peaches, figs, olives..... & not a decent station on any of 'em

It gets worse; because it's still too windy to glue the dish back in place, I was press-ganged into collecting all the fruit & turning the loss into something that can be preserved........yes, bl**dy jam making!
Never mind, I find a decent red helps wash away my troubles ...... How could a man be expected to cook without alcohol

I think I was too hard on myself about the dish mount as there is a concrete electricity pole not far away in two pieces. - The cable is holding it up! Or was earlier today.....Glad we are on solar power

Yeah, not good . can't you glue (I assume you mean set it in concrete) the pole without the dish?
