Nuts, Marbles, the whole lot today! M25 was the start of it but I digress..
Flat domed heads. That sounds like whats missing. Didn't notice if the holes are square tho.. Assume they are a fairly standard thing. Anyone know what they are called?
With regards to Sticks post earlier, (Staff ribbing due to carrying dish), I bought 2 X 3m worktops from Home
base. The nice chaps in the luminous jump suits helped me to the car with them and helped me carefully slide them in through the boot and rest them gently on the dashboard. After thanking them profusely they refused to go away, (thought they were waiting for a tip). After thanking them some more I shut the boot. A Ford Focus estate must be about 2.98m long, (which I'm sure they knew).
Enough embarrassment at the hands of Homebase staff me thinks..

'Coach bolts' I think, stainless steel or zinc coated as you don't want rusty nuts.

Progress report: It's in! Spent all day Saturday digging, got pole in and promptly ran out of concrete. Quick trip to Wickes, (which I have now found out is substantially cheaper than the closing down Focus..) and all was well. 3 foot of scaffold pole held in with 13 bags of concrete. 10 foot above ground and by all counts perfectly vertical. Have just this morning stuck dish and motor on, tightened up and pointed South. Pole flexes a bit in the wind but not too bad. Might just leave it or perhaps bodge a bracket to the shed.. Think I've worked out the latitude and declination but will have to wait and see as I seriously underesimated my cable requirements It's about 5m too short :?
Tbf I think it looks great and when the crowds subside I will attempt to post some piccy's. A few things left to do - grease up the bolts and tie the cable to the fence properly but I think all in all a weekend well spent, (providing it is still standing when I get back from well deserved lunch break at pub)! Thanks to all for their input so far and for putting up with my ravings and madness This is probably only the beginning though as when I get the cable I will be tackling the receiver..

Click on the 'additional options' tab at the bottom left of you're screen. You can attach photo's from here, just click 'browse' and point at the location they're saved on you're PC (if that makes sense ops

Good one!

Be interesting to find out how it works with a bit of wind though.
Do you have to have it so high?

Looks nice

I think I would be inclined to add some supporting arms about half way up though, just to be on the safe side. Unless it's well sheltered, and even if the pole doesn't move in the ground, I think you might find the pole will flex quite a bit in strong winds, making viewing pretty difficult And most of us know how frustrating that can be

Good job!

You can experiment with sliding it down the pole over time, once you have the receiver fired up.

You might be surprised just how low you can go. And definitively worth a bracket to the top of the shed just to knock the wobble off it. I don't think it'll be a major problem at all, because your azimuth and elevation won't change with a little wind, and it's certainly not going to fall down

Make sure your mast stays perfectly vertical as the concrete goes off though.

Looking good for a truckload of cool TV very soon!

@Robbo, did you get my PM?
