Hi folks
I have a matrix revolutions and reloaded card, and also a laptop with pcmcia ports Is there anything that I can do with this to have a bit of fun with? If I bought some extra bits would this open options up for me? Thanks Grem ![]() |

I don't think they will even do that, but I might be wrong.

The Matrix Reloaded ---- do you just enter keys or do you have to programme it? Would you believe that I bought one off ebay some months ago for about £10 (I think) with the intention of just using it as a second card reader on one of my receivers. 8)

I've no idea Bigtee, i don't use cams
Don't need them with a Dreambox ![]() I think you have to use a CAS3 programmer or something like that, but don't quote me on it ![]() I'm guessing Mikha might be able to help you out on this one mate :? ![]() Nano

Thanks Nano
![]() I was more curious than anything; I actually only bought the CAM as a second card reader because in my other base we sometimes have two subscriptions and saw a £10 MR as a cheap way of avoiding constant insertion and err withdrawal (ooh argh and all that ).

The older, original, matrix cams could be updated manually, they were the first super cam, as they could do everything, and we still use some of the tools today, like the matrix key converter.
But time moved on, the providers started fighting back, with more powerful encryptions, and new breeds, of the cam, were released, the Reborn, Reloaded and Revolution. At about the same time the Dragon was released and that simply blew away all competition, so official support for these new cams seemed to stop. Now the only support for the matrix cams are from fellow enthusiasts. I never had a Matrix, I originally went for the magic cam and that fulfilled my needs until the dragon and diablo were released, so I can't tell you if you can still manually update the keys. But it should be easy to find out, go into the cams menu and see what is there, if you have an option of imputting 3 numbers, Dec keys, then it must still be possible. If you do discover anything please report back, as no doubt the few other owners, that still use this cam, will be interested. |

Mickha,
Just for info; maybe tomorrow I will actually try to change keys e.g. when D+ is down on the TM. 1st Menu as follows: Angelfire 1. Card Information 2. Setup 3. Information Pressed 2 to go into Setup, then: 1. Edit Cas Key 2. Change Nagra Boxkey 3. Upgrade Firmware 5. Set Default Key Pressed 1 to edit Cas Key gives various encryption systems via 1-4, seca, irde*o, Nagra Pressed Nagra; get IDs 2301, 4901, 1911 Pressed 2301 for fun Seems to be old Hex (rather than Dec) keys. Trust you make some sense of this. 8)
