wow, trick of the light eh? 8)
things aren't as they seem in this world. have to say i thought it odd that while it's quite difficult to accurately point at a specific satellite you suddenly find you're actually receiving half a dozen. especially thought it weird to be receiving a west sat when pointing to the east! ![]() thanks for explaining that. i have a spare i can run from the mini dish quad to a switch to join with the large dish feed and then from there to the TM but I guess what you're saying is that i still need to run a cable from the mini dish to the sky box separately. i was hoping to get away with one cable only into the bedroom by using the loop through. |

Well, Nano runs into the Techno, out the loopthrough and into the digibox, but that might not be any good to you if you also want to run a DiSEqC switch. But then again it might!
The problem is that the digibox doesn't do DiSEqC. Fortunately the DiSEqC switch should always default to port 1, so as long as you put the minidish on that port it could just work. The problem with this arrangement is, that as soon as you turn the Technomate on, Eastenders get's the flick on the digibox ![]() Still following this nonsense? ![]() Much, much better to run two cables into the house. Much.

sounds like it could work.
if the switch defaults to port 1 then i can use either the TM or sky box off one cable connected to two dishes. Because the two receivers are connected to the same tv it doesn't matter that Eastenders will go off if the TM is switched on as only one receiver will be used at any one time. HOWEVER I would like to be able to repeat this in the lounge, ie run a Sky box and a TM off another single cable from the two dishes. Then i can use the big telly when i want to show films and sport in the lounge that i can only get using the TM but still leaving the Sky box for normal daily use and another Sky box in the bedroom for those who don't want to watch the big match. Will i be able to run both pairs of receivers in the two rooms off the two dishes using a 4 way switch or does the default to port 1 mean this won't work? if this is the case i suppose i will it need two 2 way switches and therefore a twin lnb on the large dish so that i can have two defaulted port 1's? i think this makes sense but it is late and the Rioja's been going down well. i want to avoid loads of cables running around the house if i can. |

I'd love to know if it works. Has to be a good chance, but buy top quality switches and second twin LNB. Cheap ones are notorious for not being very compliant or predictable.
