Default My super-cool computer

Back in 2004, I spent a lot of time messing around with the innards of my computer. The enjoyment wasn't so much in using the computer as it was playing with its guts. Somewhere along the line I decided it would be a good idea to stick a load of lights in it.

It wasn't. For your enjoyment, please enjoy my three-year-old, super-cool computer 8)

(If you're wondering, yes; I DID get a tan from all the UV rays :roflmao

Nice.

You have water cooling, but it looks like you have a fan on the CPU/sink?

Talk to me about that...

Oh, this computer's not meant to be nice... It's horrid... I was just posting it because it was such a mess

The little fan was for the northbridge. The northbridge on those nForce 2 motherboards got ever so hot, so active cooling was a must if you were going for high overclocks. The watercooling did its job well, though, after I played around with the radiator. Under load @ 2.4GHz 1.85v, the processor never went above 30c. When idle, it was equal to case temperature.

...Whatever all that means.

I bet you did Ahh, THAT fan is for the MOSFETs. They got ever so hot and, when hot, provided irregular power to the processor, limiting maximum stable clockspeed.

That PC made me cry, it really did. I'm sorry, but I don't like it :P - My idea of a nice computer, is an Antec P182, with a few 120mm fans... and perfectly layed cables...

Its good though, that it still works :

So, whats the processor stock speed, and whats its overclocked speed?

It's got a Barton 2500+, so stock would be 1833MHz... The most I ever had it at was 2.6GHz, but for every day use it sat at 2.4GHz. Not really a massive overclock (spoiled by the Celerons and Core 2 Duos ) but for £70 by 2004 standards it was a winner.

That's the processor that I have currently. The 2500's were ripe for overclocking. I gave mine a mild hop-up for a while, but turned it down again to make it last longer.
