lancelot, what 36v h2h you using on your dish, 1224 with adapter plates for the gibby dish ?

i'm actually thinking of scrapping the idea to use the andrews dish i got and just buy a 1metre gibby dish

are the polar mount same for the 1m/1.2m gibertini as the op could just then switch the dish over later on

I think the 100cm Gibertini will do to start with & a new lnb. What would you recommend?
Checked sponsors & they dont stock Gibertinis, Are there any suppliers you would use or any to stay clear of?
Many thanks for all of your help, very gratefully received.
regards.

@Wod, no mate - it's an old (12yrs) 36V 'sattrack' motor. Brilliant thing

The 80cm/1m and the 125cm/150cm polar mounts are smaller and larger versions of the same thing.
Different price though.

Checked Satcure site for Gibertini, thought they were the only sponsor. Progressed thro. a host of other sites & settled on Satonline (cardmania)
Thanks for your post STICK. Ihave ordered the 100cm Gibertini & an inverto 0.3db lnb.
First priority is to swap the dish then manually find 33e, hopefully before 3.00pm Saturday. Later see if the Pace SS500 series positiner will work in conjuction with the SL65 or whether i need a vbox & or Stab HH 120.
Then the fun starts! Do i upgrade to a TM 1500ci+super,Vantage combo or wait who knows how many months, years for the DM8000.
The lounge t.v. has no scart sockets so will need something with r.f. output or OH NO need a new telly as well.
How deep are my pockets? How long or short are my arms?
Seriously though that is a whole new debate, minefield. Does size matter? L.C.D. or Plasma (eco-friendly or not), full 1080p or 1080i. How many years before regular transmissions of programmes in these formats. More likely a new format will emerge/evolve.
Many many questions not enough answers! Choices choices.
C'est la vie.

Did your new dish arrive in time?

I'd just route your video through an old VCR and into your telly RF socket for now. I find that things seem cheaper if you don't pay for them all in one go

Thanks for the tip STICK i have an old analogue box i can use.

Yes the Gibertini arrived pomptly on Friday morning.Had work to do, could not wait to get back & work on the dish. I needed to modify the dish fixing plate to fix to existing motor. Have seen a photo, on MultiMedia systems online store of a h2h 128 Gold 36v Jaeger & it looks very similar to mine.

I needed to drill some holesfor bolts into the fixing plate and cut out sectionof back plate to mount on motor. Fixed backplate to dish and then to motor.

Fillled with hope and anticipation tuned into 28.2e, nudged around to 33e, nothing on sat beeper or box reception display. Tilted dish backwards and forwards to no avail. Darkness overcame me both physically and metaphorically. Tried again on Saturday, loosened bolts and swung whole assembly South. Bigger dish catches rainwater downpipe just before 1w.

Bolted up and swung dish around, rescanned 19 & 28.2e, still nothingat 33e. Will try again when time allows. Would have thought that 1m will be big enough. Think I will move dish along 2 - 3 bricks to allow dish to clear gable end and allow sweep west (think it will clear neighbours roofline). May upgrade to 120cm
also.

So pair of T & K's, is there a right way or a wrong way to fix? May go whole hog bigger Gibertini, new motor, maybe with arm pointing down. Suggestions, recommendations welcome. I have seen somewhere a 36v motor, I think that just uses the outer core for power, are these any good or is it best to stick with reed switch. 1.2 Gibertini, motor, positioner, t & K's. What are the pro's and con's of motor and actuator?

If Pace ss 500 positioner does not work will probably opt for Superjack vbox 2 converter.

regards

the gibertini 1.2m i wouldn't put on a diseqc 1.2/usals motor as its quite heavy and better suited to a 36volt motor

thing about 36volt motor is they wont move about in strong winds, are quicker because they have more power and they are a better fit to the dish

for that dish you have option of jaeger 1224 with adapter plate or gibertini polar mount + actuator motor 12inch

the positioner you will be better with the vbox as it will convert as the one you have do you have to manually move the dish with that to the satellites as the vbox will do it automatically by selecting a stored one on the receiver

First off, I would hang fire on the 33E front for a couple of weeks as they seem to be fiddling about with it at the mo.

T&K is an excellent system and will hold up all but the largest and heaviest structures, especially if you upgrade the mast and/or add additional T&K (i.e. use two pairs).

Large custom-built bracketry is sometimes required. There are a few different sources for these, or you can have something welded up yourself.

Regarding motors, you might want to read this:

http://www.satellitehelp.co.uk/forum...pic,365.0.html

You should be aware that the strongest arrangement is a jack-actuator and polar mount, but this will restrict the range of travel slightly when compared to an H-H motor.
