I have a Manhattan receiver set up with Digitalb one year subscription. According to the book its on Eutelsat 16 deg East.
Its fine for football and films but I want the basic sky package as well for C4 and C5 etc (Am in Anglesey - no freeview/digital signal !!) Do I have to get another dish and receiver for Sky? If so I'll subscribe for a year and get their free installation. Also what other cards can be used on my set up? I may change from DigitAlb next year Thanks in advance Dave |

If you want to receive ch4 and ch5 via satellite you have no choice at the moment other than to go to sky for a FTV card that costs about 20 pounds (i think). you will also need a sky box to put it in as it wont work in your present receiver (you can pick these up second hand two a penny now days). Likewise you can pick up a mini dish for a fiver and install that yourself. You do have other options of course when it comes to your set up , i.e. you could motorise your present dish, but to receive ch4 & ch5 via sat at the moment you will need the basic ingredients of a FTV card and a sky digibox.
Sky have been doing some deals lately called 'pay once watch for ever' they will install you a mini dish and receiver and provide a card for about £75.00 all in i think. although this was apparently a limited offer so im not sure if its still available. hope this helps. Red ![]() |

It may be possible to put another LNB on your existing setup, depending on your dish size. But for hassle free viewing of 28E it is probably best to put another dish up. A separate dish would give you more flexibilty with the footy dish. For example, you might want to motorize it, or have to move its postion to another satellite later on. Yes, another receiver is needed to pick up ch4 and ch5 and the other free to view satellite channels. The easiest option is a _Sky receiver plus a _Sky card. There 3 ways to get these: Subscribe with free install. Get Freesat from _Sky with free install. Or get a 2nd hand box and just pay a one off £20 for a FTV card and stick the dish up yourself. |
