Have you tried cleaning it? Seriously, I've spilled beer, the kids have spilled fizzy drinks etc and it really screws the remotes up covering the keypad/IC underneath in a sticky goo.

I've had success with all those in this household that have been 'damaged' by liquids - perhaps I've been lucky but .... you need to open up the case (in some cases this will mean breaking them open so take time). Once open, clean the components individually using a damp cloth, or in the case of rubber keypads and the actual remote housing submerse under water and scrub away with a nail-file. Dry them off using kitchen towels and leave for several hours to air dry (eg. airing cupboard or above a radiator) to really be completely dry. Reassemble, add battery and, hopefully, it will work again.

Hope this helps.

Tried that - had sucess in the past, this time alas i think it shorted out the transisitor (SMC) that drives the LED!! it was cider - so its prob.. dissolved the chip :roflmao: i even glued tinfoil to the rubber bits on one remote once..... oh well if anyone does have a spare - let me know - the culprit" said he will pay for replacement!" this computer keyboard has been downed in coke, apple juice, sweets, god know what else... and it works was my mates son when she had it!!
oh joy!

I alway keep my remote controls in the plastic bag they came in, the remote still works, it saves wear on the key pad and when you spill your beer it doesn't affect the remote.

Oh dear - a terminal case then. Thought it were worth mentioning anyway just in case it helps others. Hope you get some success with a replacement.

Might a universal remote do the trick? You know the type (eg All for ONE upgradeable) that can be programmed to replicate every button on the original. Had some joy with those some years ago but not sure of their current range.
