I suppose it would mean a swap out of both cards and receivers. I wouldn't say its impossible as it happened with Sky Italia when they went from Seca 2 to NDS. I just can see happening in such a short time frame, although I'll admit I've been wrong before now

It wouldn't suprise me in the slightest if it did happen as Uncle Rupe is trying to go for world domination :spite:

Still the way i see it if more and more providers go to NDS it will only be a matter of time before it falls, it will be a case of the need out weighing the risk

I personally think there is someone out there who has broken NDS2, they're just to shi* scared to make it public knowledge, as we all know that Uncle Rupe would throw all of his resources to nail whoever made it public

I'm sure i've heard somewhere the guy that apparently broke NDS1 got screwed big time by Murdoch and Co. :?

Does seem like a tight time-scale if it's true, though I suppose Q4 takes you right up 'till the end of December so they've got just over 3 months to get it all sorted :?

its been a rumour for a while, they will have to make a cam as i don't think many people will change there receivers and to think i was going to purchase a premiere card, i wont if you have to have a crappy nds receiver

i can do with out as i loved watching nascar on premiere

well more for stealth team and the others to get stuck into as it cant be that secure unlike powervu etc

Theres talk of some boxes being updated to NDS ota with a software patch, but some will be unsuitable and will need replacing.

If anyone finds any further info please put it up.

There isnt anything on the press section of the NDS site yet, the info I have came from one of the fairly senior memebers of the other forum.

Premiere soon in Cryptoworks too!
Surprising news have just been announced: Premiere plans to use Cryptoworks encryption to gain coustomers in Austria.
As Austrian national television (ORF) has changed to Cryptoworks an will shut down it's emission on old "Betacrypt", Premiere wants to make it easier for ORF-viewers to receive the Premiere bouquet.

Very interesting move, as ist allows quite some assumptions regarding the policy of PW and its view about the priority of the risks of being hacked or gaining coustomers.
