As if there wasnt already enough football channels around Sky Onc is to be hijacked every wednesday during the group stages:
From broadcast now: Sky is to show Champions League football matches live on Sky One this season for the first time due to a record number of British sides qualifying for the group stages of the tournament. Six British clubs - Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Rangers and Celtic - have qualified for the group stages and three are guaranteed to play on each match day. Sky will schedule one live match featuring a British club on Sky One on each Wednesday during the group stage. The first Sky One fixture will be Rangers v Stuttgart on 19 September. It will also be available in high definition on Sky One HD. Sky Sports will continue to air the other two Wednesday matches on its linear channels and will offer Sky digital viewers access to all eight games via the interactive red button service. The move to Sky One will not only bring live Champions League football to Sky subscribers who are not signed up to the broadcaster's sports channels, but it is also a poke in the eye for Virgin Media whose subscribers can no longer get access to the channel on their cable service. The plan only covers the group stages and will be reassessed should multiple British teams progress to the knock out stages.

Sky One is mostly full of garbage these days anyway, so it shouldn't matter.
I wish it would go back to the days of showing cheesy old comedies. In the early 90's they used to show Alf, Bossom Buddies, Family Ties, Murphy Brown etc.
