How many members use the 1224 motor?

What size dish`s do you use on it etc.

Any one have the strengthened version?

Got one but I'm not using it yet, Wod has one to but I'm not sure if he has it fitted yet. When I do get it sorted it will be on the 1m dish, possibly upgraded to a 1.2m in the future.

It's a big, heavy thing & can be fitted on anything from a 2 inch scaffold pole to a 3 1/2 inch pole. The bigger the better I would say.

Not heard of the strengthened version :? If I ever found the need to use a strengthened 1224 I would probably just go for a polar mount with heavy duty actuator instead.

You can get an inclined orbit version, which comes with an actuator, but by all accounts you can't get as far west with this because the actuator fouls the dish on the way round :

i have one and today, i bolted it all together and f8888 hell its heavy beast

was going to get it mounted up today but i don't think it can lift it up on the mount as the wall mount is quite high up and needs strengthening

going to take some pics of it if you want some close ups

the modified version has the metal plate under the motor as i opened mine today to test/wire up and the casing would crack

yes thanks guys, I am just curious on what size dish the strengthened version would hold.

As jeager state 1.8m. I would mount an ali 1.8m, But my channel master 1.8m would be pushing it I think.

I am going to get one for my fibo 1.2m, but I wont be paying over priced uk prices. Like wod I will be buying it from Germany.

the motor wire up isn't so clear so when i connected it to the vbox and press east it moved west lol so swapped cables over and it moved fine

it doesn't sound that loud either, as i saw a video of one on a fibo dish and my god the noise coming off it, think you might have seen it crossbones, that likvid on the other forum

just use the polar mount on the 1.8m dish instead

that satshop24.de do a motor for a 3.7m dish, think it is for mesh cband dish though

The wiring for the 1224, is the same for a normal actuator.

Yes I did see that vid, maybe the sound was amplified because of the small cramped space it was on :

I did look at that motor when I nearly bought a prodeline 3.1m for £100 But its discontinued on that site, nice motor tho.

But there is always an Egis motor, if your rich

No probs running this motor on a Echostar 240cm mesh antenna.

However you should buy the strenghtened version which will hole better as the older units cracked wide open, not nice if you have a nice 1.8m dish and it's solid aluminium. :spite:
