Default India’s NDTV to launch ‘Arabia’ channel for expats

India’s largest private news channel, NDTV, today unveiled a new satellite channel targeting the millions of South Asian expatriates living in the Middle East and Africa. NDTV Arabia, a free-to-air channel to be officially launched at the end of October, will be “infotainment-based, with business, news and lifestyle” the channel said in a statement. Most programming will be in English.

“NDTV Arabia is NDTV’s first venture into the Middle East and Africa as a customised channel,” said KVL Narayan Rao, CEO of the NDTV Group. ”The channel aims to cater to growing interest in Indian current affairs and economy among a large population of Indian and South Asian origin (people) in the Middle East and Africa,” he said.
