We had a Eurosat (I think) satellite installed with a Televes receiver (I think). The man came and set it up and we had various TV stations and various radio stations. The radio stations now tell me that they don't have a signal. I tried doing an automatic scan to see if I could sort it out but although the radio stations are listed, it still doesn't work. Can anyone tell me what I need to do because I can't seem to make sense of the manual.
Also, having done the scan and picked up all channels and not just FTA, I can see that Channel 4 amongst others that I didn't seem to have is now listed but it is scrambled - why is this and can I unscramble it so I can watch it? As you can probably tell, I don't really know what I'm talking about so an answer in plain english would be most appreciated!!! many thanks |

Hi,
Welcome to the forum. Where are you located, are you in the UK? Since you are getting Ch4 I think you must be pointing at Astra2/Eurobird1. Are you getting all the BBC and ITV Tv channels? CH4 can only be decoded with a SKY Digibox (excluding other more complicated methods) and viewing card.

I think we have lost signal on all radio stations although they appear in the list.
Yes we are in UK And yes I think we are on Astra satellite and yes we get BBC, ITV etc with no problems. I did read on another website after I posted my question that Sky had monopoly on Ch4 but that the contract is due to end Jan 2008 and will not be renewed so perhaps we will be able to get it after that. |

Try deleting the list of radio stations and then try rescanning

Nobody knows for sure how the Channel 4 contract negotiations with Sky will go, but it's highly likely that they will drop the encryption, so we should be OK!
![]() Try leaving your digibox unplugged from the mains overnight, and then on for 48 hours and let us know if that works. Has it already been left switched off for a while, like if you were away on holiday say? There are some more tricks to try on your box if leaving it off/on doesn't do it.

I've had another look through the radio stations and it seems that many are listed more than once and some of them work and some don't so for BBC Radio 4, one entry doesn't work but another does so obviously the rescanning did work but I had to choose a different entry for radio 4.
Thanks very much for all your help. |

Most of the the BBC radio services changed frequency a few weeks ago. Nano's response was the correct one for your problem.

The correct frequencies are shown here:-
http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html ( The radio stations are in the non bold text.) You can delete the non-working stations if you want.
