Default sl65/12 patching problem.

I followed the instructions given here for patching the receiver, It all seems to be working, but when I enter 2580, I get a message saying Cas unavailable. What have I done wrong?

Hi SoundsDigital. Welcome to the forum

If you have the 'B1' chipset and you are referring to this sticky:-

then it should be compatible. Try repeating the process. Sometimes it may take more than one attempt. The whole process takes several minutes to complete all steps.

I have read that some of the newer receivers on sale have the ALI M3329C E1 chip. Not sure if these have been successfully patched.

Looks like they have.

The software update has gone in ok, as the GUI is completely new. It could be I have the wrong version though. Can anyone post a live link to were I can download software known to work, please?

Found the patch and software update on _http://satboard.uk.to/forum and followed the instructions to the letter. When finished, I go into menu and enter 2580, but the message CAS not supported! comes up. (I think it was worded differently before) Anyone have any idea what is going wrong? If my firmware is incompatible, would it have totally screwed up the box or not taken the patch at all? It is working fine otherwise, although the signal strength and quality bars are showing much lower tan they did previously.

No live links to other forums please! Our rules can be found here, and are very simple.

The signal strength and quality bars do indicate lower than with original firmware - but it's just graduated to a different scale.

If you look at this thread, encblue had difficulty at first. There may be something here to give you a clue.

Just opened it up. I have the Ali A1 chip. Is there any way to patch this one?

Unfortunately the patch doesn't work on the 'A1'. Looks like you're stuck with FTA only.
