hi Guys,
i have been reading some of the other messages but i have almost given up. I have been using the information from the other messages to try to set up mine but i am not having any success. Can anyone please help or offer any advice. I used to work on a yacht that was cruising the Med. I have been given the box and have changed over the billing into my name so I can use it in Spain. Both the box and the card worked fine on the yacht matched to the seatel antena system. Here at home I have a spanish satelite digital plus. The settings read that it is set up for Astra with excellent signal strength. I wanted to get more english programs. Is there anything I can do because I am getting no satelite signal message. I have someone (a guy) helping me but he needs the proper steps for the installation page and dish setup. Please, please, please help me. Hi dayna
Welcome to the forum. I'm slightly confused by your post as you mention digital+. Digital+ comes from Astra1 at 19.2 degrees east ( and 30W) Whereas SKy UK comes from Astra 2 at 28.2 degrees east. Are you wanting to receive both these packages.? If so, you can't do it with one dish and a single LNB. You will need either 2 dishes, 2 LNBs, or a motorised system. Please could you clarify what dishes you have and where they're pointing. If you wanted to just receive Sky, then if your dish was set up for d+, you will need to swing your dish left (from behind) and down a touch to re-align it to Astra 2, instead of Astra 1. (mark old settings on brackets first) Robbo

Thanks for getting back to me so soon Kent. I do not want Digital + anymore. I still have the dish. The dish and LNB are the ones from my post message. I have done what you said I have moved it to the left and with help of Sat finder (the little box) we are losing sat signal from Astra and gaining another which we think is eurobird 1(not sure). The indication on the finder is fine but the Sky box keep giving the īno signalīmessage.

Hi again,
Yes, there are a number of actual satellites for Astra 2 /Eurobird. But they are considered to be co-located as they are so close together. Take a look here for all the channels that are on 28.2E/Eurobird http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html If you look at column 8 it says 'beam'. If you click on it, a footprint map will pop up. The problem you may be having is that with your 60cm dish, you will not be able to see all beams, and thus all channels. Astra 2D is focussed to the UK only, so to get it in europe a very oversized dish is required, depending on exactly where you are. 60cm is most likely not big enough to get 2D, and maybe some of the others. The sky box has a 'default transponder' frequency stored in it. It uses this to give a signal strength reading in the setup menu. You need to change it to a different frequency, that you can pick up. This can be done in the 'secret' engineering menu. I think its press 4 then 0 then 2 then enter, or something like that ( I don't use my sky box anymore, so can't remember exactly ). Robbo Edit:- You posted while I was typing. But something doesn't look right there. The LNB needs a power supply, also 22kHz I would have thought should be 'auto'. Someone who is more familiar with the way sky boxes work hopefully will be able to check those settings for you.

Installer menu is Sevices 4 0 1 Select. Look at the remote, not at the screen. BE CAREFUL what you change in here!

Yes 4,0,1 select.
Just checked on my box and the LNB power should be ON, so should the 22kHz. I think the default transponder has to be set to a correct one also. Since you can't pick up the standard one, I believe there is an alternative one, but I'm afraid I don't what it is.
