I found this on another forum and nicked it (hope that's OK, Mr Moderator
). Thanks to Homeboy on satboard for these very detailed instructions. Haven't tried them myself."SL-65: Adding & Tuning a New Satellite - a to z? (Non-Motorized) [I think that a "little" expansion & clarification may be required for Newbies?!] I’ve tried to make out a Step-by-Step - well, this is one way to go about it [E&OE] (Different Firmwares may have Different Menus): 1) Before you start Switch-Off your SL-65 2) Take out of the circuit, any in-line DiSEqC Switches that you may have (i.e. by-pass them) 3) Connect whatever SAT Finder you have into the circuit near the LNB 4) Switch-On your SL-65 5) Go to: Installation 6) Then: Antenna Setup 7) Press number 2 on the remote control - to Add a New Satellite 8) Leave the Default Name New Satellite - it might be a wasted effort to change it just now. 9) Change LNB Type to: Universal 10) Leave DiSEqC Setting as: DiSEqC 1.0 11) Leave DiSEqC Switch as: Disable 12) Leave Positioner as: None 13) Leave Polarity as: H/V 14) Go back one-level, to the Installation Screen again 15) Go to TP Scan 16) Then TP Index 17) Press number 1 on the remote control - to Add a New Carrier 18) Leave the Default Name New Carrier 19) Enter/type in a known TP Frequency for the relevant Satellite. Choose a Transponder with FTA channel(s). {Here, we want a TP on Intelsat 10-02/Spot 3 at 1°W - use 12687 in this instance} 20) Enter/type in the correct Symbol Rate {27500 in this instance} 21) Choose the correct Polarity H or V {V in this instance} 22) Now leave the SL-65 & the TV as is - on this screen - while aligning the dish 23) Align your dish to the Correct Satellite 24) The bars on screen (Signal Intensity & Signal Quality) should now indicate something like: 88 & 77 or 84 & 56 or 58 & 58 (depending on your location within the Footprint, dish size and alignment accuracy) The Top bar may indicate a High level even if you are on the Wrong satellite The Lower bar "should" only indicate a High level if you are on the Correct satellite 25) Now, click on Search, to run a Scan of this TP 26) After auto-saving has completed, Exit out, and you should have one FTA channel loud & clear (called "CT 24", with Czech audio) 27) Go to the Installation Screen again 28) Go to Auto Scan 29) Make sure Satellite is set to New Satellite 30) Make sure Scan Mode is set to All 31) Click on Search, to run an Auto Scan (a Blind Scan) 32) Exit all menus & have a look at your saved channels 33) Re-name the Satellite now, if you want. Afterwards, enter the current active k€y for Dіgί T√ if needed (in the manner previously indicated). Notes: I found it hard enough to find 1W (though I had little bother finding 4.8E & 5W - which ultimately helped greatly in locating 1W - roughly mid-way between both). While I was on 4.8E I noticed that Hustler Channels, labelled as PG & PB (©Яypτoworks), are both open under this Firmware" |

Hi - great post and one which will help all us newbies
As I have motor fitted, would the process be much different? Only thing I can see is how does the motor know where to point the dish for a 'new' sat? Probably missing the obvious! Cheers MQ |

Also you would have to enable Diseqc 1.2 or USALS for it as well. Robbo |
