Default Voom HD in Virgin 50mbps trial

Voom HD is to be carried over Virgin Media’s broadband network as part of the cablenet’s trial of a 50mbps c@ble service. The deal was brokered by channel distributor Chello Zone, the former Zonemedia, and is the first appearance of Voom HD in the UK market.

Voom HD broadcasts a mix of features series and specials on topics that include adventure travel, fashion, luxury lifestyle, art, live concerts, action sports and video gaming. In the United States 15 Voom channels are distributed over the Echostar DISH Network and Cablevision’s digital c@ble service. The single Voom HD channel is currently distributed in Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

Virgin already offers the BBC HD test channel and this week announced the availability of HD content from Channel 4.
