Can't tell for sure but i think its a combo terrestrial, Sat doobrey firkin thingy with built in diplexer and 8 way output :? Sorry its real name escapes me
![]() It would require a Quattro LNB (H/V & Hi/Low outputs) to work. A normal quad output lnb would not work ![]() You would also need the correct wall plates to make this work or something at the other end of the output to split the UHF & Sat signals to individual outputs ![]() Its basically used for supplying communal aerial/sat systems in flats etc etc ![]() ![]() Nano

Yes, it's a 'multiswitch' - it takes four inputs from a quattro LNB plus a terrestrial feed (digital/analogue - it doesn't matter) mixes them and pumps it to 8 locations (max) where it would (as Nano says) require a diplexer or de-combiner to split the frequencies out again onto two cables.
As you need an extra physical join at the receiver end, you may as well have a wall plate, though I still question whether those that have a diplexer built-in are very good quality. I've never tested or even used one. I do have a separate Triax diplexer under my desk waiting to be installed.

Interesting
![]() I might get myself one of these ![]() Don't think I would use it for DTT though, already got an 8 output unit to go in the loft for that. This unit would go in the shed then, when I eventually get round to buying a feedhorn, I can get a quattro C120 LNB instead of a quad Am I right in saying that, as I'd only be using the satellite output, I wouldn't need to use a wallplate and could just go straight to the receiver via the multiswitch? Kev

Good question! Umm.... probably!
The diplexer is only a filter, much like an ADSL filter - it effectively allows one band to pass on one leg and another on the second leg. As I said somewhere else, although I have my switch and diplexer, I haven't sorted out a quattro LNB yet, so my project is temporarily on ice. I don't like the look of any of the cheapo quattros that I could possibly jam onto my minidish, so I think I'll hold out for a decent 40mm ø LNBF job and maybe a baby Triax to chuck it on.
