Default HD Channels... other than SkyHD

I see that TM have now launched HD boxes.... many questions:

1. What channels, or packages of channels, are currently being broadcast to the UK other than SkyHD? (say within range of an 80cm dish)

2. Are there currently, or are there plans for, any FTA HD channels?

3. Presumably nothing needs to change to dish/lnb/cabling setup.... just a new box/receiver required?

4. Some of the boxes suggest Sky+ type features.... what size hard drives are being put in these boxes?

thanks!

1) Very little targeted specifically at the UK, but a few available none-the-less:

2) A handful now, but will surely be more and more over time.

3) Correct

4) Anything up to 500GB+

Some encrypted HD channels can be watched, yes. The easiest way to do this is to buy a subscription of course, but you could also buy a good HD receiver like the Topfield and a Diablo CAM to watch stuff like Premiere HD.

Hi PP,

I bought a Topfield HD receiver and use a Diablo cam, the picture on Prem HD is great whither its football or a movie.

Cheers Mac.

I'd love to have your setup alongside my other receivers.
