IPTV deployments more than double in a year
BBWF – BERLIN. The number of people using IPTV services increased by 179% in the 12 month period to June 30, 2007, according to statistics prepared by Point Topic and published by the DSL Forum. Europe is now leading IPTV deployments with 4,984,000 homes out of the total of 8,229,000 worldwide compared.
The runner-up is the Asia-Pacific region with 2,176,000 homes connected, with the Americas trailing behind with 1,069,000 subscribers. This compares with the following figures a year ago: Europe 1,505,000; Asia-Pacific 987,000 and the Americas 409,000. Top markets are France with 2,550,000 and Hong Kong with 938,000 customers.
