Hi I moved from Italy last year, I live near Romford (east on london) and I would like to watch Italian channels.
I would like to know what I have to buy and expecially where can I buy it. Please help me, I'm not able to fiind a shop so before buying it on internet I want to be sure of what I need. Thanks |

Hi kririk
:welc3: to the forum. Have a look in this section there may be an answer to some of your questions there:- http://www.satellitehelp.co.uk/forum...php?board=54.0 Do you have in mind any particular channels you want to watch? I know there are the RAI channels on Hotbird, some free to air (FTA), some not. plus many other Italian channels. Have a look here:- http://www.lyngsat.com/hotbird.html Here is also a list of all the FTA channels that are available accross the satellites:- http://www.flysat.com/tv-it.php Once you know what channels you want, more advice can be given as to what equipment you need. As to where to buy it, most of us use online shops, there are probably more than 10 I can think of off the top of my head, it depends on how much you want to spend, and what you need to buy, which depends on what you want to watch. regards Robbo |

Hi,
We prefer not to advise particular places to buy stuff from, or what exactly to buy. ![]() It is better that with our help, you weigh up the various pros and cons yourself. But if that is what you want here goes:-. TM5200D USB £74 Orbital 80cm dish pack £55.00 That includes c@ble, wall, bracket, LNB etc everything you need. This is not the cheapest system around, but it's along the lines of what I would get if I was going to get a new system, and includes a little bit of scope for the future. These are from the site sponsor, and from what I've see and heard so far, a good company. also 5% discount if you quote the code 'sathelp' at checkout. http://www.southernsatellite.co.uk regards Robbo |

Hi Robbo,
sorry if I break some rules... It's a week that I try to find the best choice and I'm also tring to understand if I will be able to install it by myself. So, I thought that starting with the good advice would be better... ops: !!!Thanks for your help, starting from your suggestion I will try to find what is better for me. I will certainly need help again about installation!!!! :? regards Kririk |

No, you haven't broken any rules.
![]() Yes, what you suggest is a good idea, see what's better for you. ![]() (exactly why it's better not to tell people what to buy) and assuming that you can use a hammer drill, and a spanner, have a bit of patience, and a good view of the Hotbird satellite, you should be able to install yourself. You would find a cheapo satellite finder meter (£11.99) from Maplin,(prob' cheaper on ebay), would make the alignment easier, but it is not essential. By all means, come back to ask advice when fitting, or for an opinion on the system that you do choose. Robbo |
