the following are not the latest software but they are working !!openning , Pre**er ,dig*Tv,etc
It is the truman software taken from the nachtfalke forum , as mentioned above by Damonfeuer who gives an excellent summary of what is available and the statement of hope"....future is looking very bright for the b1 SL series"
I.Had to do quite a search in the Nachtfalke forum to get the appropriate files with the help of members.
1 upgrade MFC application file version 1.0.0.1 10 jan.07 .size 344kb
2.Ls 65/12 -Ls35 Truman emu 1.3.78. abs file, modified 27 oct 07 17:04hrs ,size 2.0.mb. There are additional truman versions for which I am not sure if they work.
3. Alli editor MFC application file version 1.0.0.1
date 22Jan 07 03:05Hrs size:664kb

With the above S/w i have modified 2 xSL 65/12 .They open the providers i want, both work relatively ok( some freezing happens if a non signal channel is selected, the display is not that of comag, nor the pannel pushbuttons, there are additional, different functions for some keys of the remote control, the LNB is not switched off when box is switched off.)
However the EMU is very good, with well thought key editing etc.
I have not see as yet a description of the usage of truman s/w - there was a thread with the usage of truman 1.3.78 emu in the nachtfalke forum,a piecemeal user guide was made there.
( you can access the key editor by entering channel number 9339 which does not exist as channel)

Since i am a "simpleton" I use only the remote control to do transponder searching, adding new satellites eg.1 West sirius , employing, unused/non interesting favorite areas of emu, like Taqui*la which migrated to N3.or childrens channels.I have not as yet used the editor .since my motto is:" the less usage of zeromodem cable, the less danger of having to jtag"-e.g wife blowing a fuse in kitchen when upgrading)
The SL 65/12 is a very sensitive receiver which is an advantage if you use small dishes( i have used the 40cm dish to receive Eurobird as main focus and Astra 19.2 as second satellite with "Best "0.01 dB double LNBs.quite a fiddly job that produced good resultfis.
Perhaps Damonfeuer can provide relevant file names for the third part of his summary,
to make it easier for all of us to use this little wonder SL65/12(65 euro from lidl)

Welcome, Makev, and thanks for the detailed description of your work. Truman 1.3.78 is now quite old - the latest is 1.3.86 but it is said to be a bit unstable, so best to use 1.3.85. You will find the file and all the necessary instructions on the site I mention in post #9 of this thread - it really is the best specialist forum for English-speaking users of the SL65.

Hello all,

Makev, one question, are you talking about C s*urce code files you have found or just .ABS or .bin files? I have been looking on Nachtfalke, but found nothing concerning C s*urce code. An interesting site to find .abs or .bin files for the sl65 is www dot truman dash support dot com. The only problem is that sometimes you have to patch the files to make it work on the SL65. It is always good to read on the forums if somebody else has already done it. Sometimes you can mess-up your receiver and than is the only way J-tag.

Greetings.

Just a slight correction to Dkindt's post: You always have to patch the files downloaded from truman-support in order for them to work on the SL65.

I've never come across source code anywhere. But then I wouldn't know what to do with it anyway.

Solunauk,

I agree with what you are saying concerning patching.
I am just asking about the C c*ode because in one message there is somebody talking about it. Because I know a bit about C programming because of my job (automation), I am just interested in it to see how it looks like. I always want to learn more.

Greetings.

I am a carefull person and when i find something that works very good for my purpose i stick to it.( i use my time for something else than unnecessary troubleshooting)
I have installed also the Truman 80 emu from the nachtfalke forum in my wife's SL65/12 and I noticed that
although the 78 version is older ,it is more stable and has AUTOUPDATE on Pre**mi*r which the 80 does not( so the wife provides feedback when she comes to ask for the new keys, which I do not need for my 78, for as long as more than a month now.
I pached a 2007 SL65/12 Alib1 with the nachtfalke truman 78 emu
S/W and because there is not a display on these boxes, it is impossible to say if the receiver is on or Off( as i mentioned the LNb voltage is not switched OFF anywayin in any SL65/12 so modified)
the files I mentioned are what is needed to safely patch the SL65/12 b1 or the SL 35 with Ali b1 Chip(i.e downloader for .abs files and the truman 1.78 emu abs file. There is also an Ali editor which I donot use since I add satellites manually by deleting not used favorites (e.g taquilla, children etc.

however the daily use of the truman s/w is very fiddly since one has to rename pushbuttons on the remote control, but the software provide excellent guidance on every step(on the relevant screen).

It is good to read something reasuring (like the information that truman 85 is stable).
in this way I can make the next carefull step upwards.(the proble is that NOT always the SUPER gurus that kindly help, provide sufficient info on their work(eg why the upgrade is needed, what new is in the upgrade, how long was tested before publishing etc).
my experience is that some attitudes do not build confidence ,because the chase of Glory to be the first to publish, necessitates afterwards FIXES like in Bill Gates products and a lot of cursing instead of thanks from those that rush to implement.
