Nothing definite although one member on another forum agrees a 1.2m *should* be big enough.

If you can do without C5 for a few weeks then wait until more services shift over to 2C which will indicate if its a problem with that tp or o more general problem in your location.

A bigger dish should indeed help although Im making no guarantees - There is totally insufficient info available about 2C reception at 28E around at the moment

And please remember Im no expert in satellite footprints - this is all theoretical and educated guesswork! Normally I would recommend getting info from local experts, although they are few and far between in Poland for 28E......

Astra 2C must be weak over in the eastern Europe despite the footprint info

Default Latest Update

I was looking frantically for a 1.8m dish and in the search happened to call someone who specialises in SKY TV here in Warsaw and told him what had happened. He was surprised and said that he had a 90cm Offset and was able to catch Five channel without any problem. I asked him to connect his Thompson Skybox and reverify which he did and reverted that he was receiving Five Channels without a problem. He told me there could be a problem with setting or the LNB or the Skybox. The dish was adjusted and the LNB changed just last month. It was a normal LNB nothing fancy but worked well at that time so I let it be without upgrading to something better.
The SKYBOX is old (2000 model, Panasonic) . Has anyone every heard of such a problem that a box could loose certain channels only specially Five. Please advice what to do and where to start from, thanks.

It's really quite an odd problem. I can only suggest checking/replacing the cable and F connectors, then replace the LNB. Those are both cheap options to perform.

Other than that, you're looking at testing your existing dish with a different receiver (a Sky box would obviously be best if you want to see a picture on FIVE) and then adjusting/replacing your dish.

The latter should only be required if it's a really cheap item or has been deformed/broken in some way.

18pcs,
There was a problem identified a long time ago with the Sky Panasonic receiver with certain LNB. In fact there was advice given in some online satellite shops that you had to install internally a cable and mini board to allow the reciever to use all universal LNB (?) or you use their advised LNB replacement.
My Panasonic receiver is the same model as yours and it has never had a problem with the LNB's I have connected to it.
The only probem I had with SOME channels not appearing was when I had water get into the cable and run down into the LNB. At first some channels would not show then as things got worse some channels showed up on the wrong Sky channel number.

Default LNB recommendations and Five found thru Add Channels

Would be obliged if someone could recommend the best LNB in the market for Sky Channels in Europe.
I manually entered the Five Frequency (Dont remember which one ) in the ADD Channels and was surprised that it found some channels and the FIVE channel works this way. however through the SKY Epg and Channel 105 I am not getting any of the SKY Channels. Does this point to a fault with the Skybox ?
