Default have to keep rescanning

Hi real newbie here, i recently bought the sl65 from l*dl , have set it up with 85cm dish and dual lnb , and can get hotbird and astra,
problem is i scan for channels, osd says "saving " and every thing works ok.
until i shut down and then try to restart, when to get started i have to rescan all again
in other words its not saving the channels.
so can someone please tell me what i,m doing wrong or not doing ????

could be a faulty box.

Perhaps one of the other owners here can shed some more light, but if it says it's saving and then doesn't, it sounds like a ropey box. Would it be easy for you to exchange it?

The fact that you can scan the two birds indicates to me that everything else looks healthy.

it should save ok every time....sounds like a fubard box im sorry to say..
you could allways try and reflash it to see if it is a firmware issue.

I agree sounds faulty as of its not writing to nvram

If it were mine id reflash with offical firmware if that dosnt work take it back

thanks every one for the answers, i have now found its a dud !!
borrowed a mates box ,set it up, scanned, and it holds the scan ok

went back to my box , scanned, but although it says saving, its not,

so back to l*dl

No worries. I guess it's kind of a relief that it's faulty. At least you can move forward now.

out of interest did you try and reflash the firmware?

arden no i did not reflash, but as i have nothing to lose (its going back) maybe i should, if only for practice ?and if it works,great, i'll do that
waiting for a null modem cable to arrive
