The Polish DTH platform Cyfrowy Polsat has begun trialling what will be its first HD channel. Distributed by Hot Bird, Polsat Sport HD is expected to make its official debut on November 2 and to be eventually distributed by cable as well as the platform, which already has in the region of 1.8 million subscribers. The DTH platform n was the first service in Poland to introduce HD channels and has since been followed by its competitor Cyfra+ and the MSO Multimedia Polska.
