Teco TL4091RW 40" LCD HD TV TL4091RW 1366x768 1200:1 500cd/m2 8ms http://www.ebuyer.com/product/131024
£512.73 The customer reviews look reasonable - another cheap option...? Mind you, having just spotted the EUR in the 569 price of the Aldi one, that does come in at a very cheap price. PC |

An even better tip Don't buy any HD TV unless you have a HD sours or its like watching tough a net curtain I notice ther are a lot of DVD players and freeview boxes with up scalers built in to help this problem but you are still not getting full HD. and it dosnt help if the freeview reciver is already built into the TV. We got a 32"Samsung LCD, it went back the next day. I'm sticking with the big old CRT.

I'm actually very happy with the 32" [cheap] Goodmans 1080i/720p unit I've got here. It replaced a 28" CRT and the difference is substantial.
It's driven by a diskless frontend over DVI>HDMI at 720p/50hz native resolution. Upscaling of SD Freeview [DVB-T] and some SD satellite channels, as well as DVDs, is taken care of by MythTV, and the BBC HD output from DVB-S is quite incredible. Deinterlacing in hardware using the Bob(2x) type deint. Black and shiny, no dead pixles, fast enough response, bright enough for daytime viewing, and black isn't far off black. 1080i is just a horrible invention though. I'm happy. PC |
