Ref Mship Post at the top, Point No. 4...
My TM6900 has had gliches of 'blank screens' which are fixed by switching off & back on again. Haven't had it very long & have done it 5 or more times, so far...

Also interested in which Hard Drives it will work with?

Cant tell you about hard drives, but suggest you have a look on the TM site and make sure you have the latest firmware for your receiver. The early firmware had problems which affected the memory stick loading as well. I notice that you haven't had it long, as this may be your problem.

I'm using a Western Digital Passport 160gb HDD without any problemsTo get this to work I had to do the following before connecting the HD to the TM:

1-Connect to PC via USB
2-Right click on 'my computer'
3-Select manage
4-Go to disc manager
5-Disc info will be on the screen
6-Right click
7-Delete partition
8-make new PRIMARY partition
9-DO NOT FORMAT
10- Activate the partition
11-Connect to you're TM 6***, go to management & format the drive, this will format you're drive in fat 32.

HTH

Thanks Mship & Staffo,
Two things for me to look into.

Continuing the theme, I tried recording a HD program, from BBC-HD, straight to USB flash memory the other day...

It wasn't good. Picture on-screen started blocking/skipping/pausing etc... It was basically un-watchable and the play-back was the same.
Stopped the recording & everything returned to normal.
I've recorded SD material before, on the same stick, with no problems.
Wondered if there might be transfer-rate issues?

Any thoughts/comments?? (back to the two points above?)

Thanks Mship,
Took the plunge & bought a 500GB Seagate today. Good price from Maplins at £75 (limited time only?). Also looked at the TM website for instruction on preparing the new Hard Drive but it wasn't clear how to complete the process.
Your Step 11, above, clarified the situation & it's up and working.
So far it seems HD material is handled ok so all's well...
Thanks again
