Default Sat info

Hi Guys, I got the instructions for loading 'new sat info' to my 2005 SL65 they look much easiar to use than than the downloaded SL65 instructions although they got me part way there.
What I need now is what frequency/symbol rates or other information do I need and where can I get them.
Its probably obvious but as the saying goes 'Can't see the woods for the trees'

Thanks in advance

If you have an 'auto/ or blind scan' option use that. It should bring in all the channels on the sat you are pointing at -automatically. For channel info go to www.lynsat.com

You'll have to forgive me, my understanding of this is hazy, Does the box need to have the numbers inputed b4 it can locate a satellite and then do an 'Auto' or Blind scan' or if you have pointed the dish at the rough location the scan will pick up this info. I think 'train spotting' is sounding more attractive every day!
Maybe you could reccomend a publication that a confussed Newbie like my self can
get a grip on this.

Cheers in advance

Can you tell me what satellite setup you have. ie. is it a portable dish, fixed dish (what size) or motorized. Is the system installed, and if so are you receiveing any channels atm?

I have a 60cm set up at my week end caravan and it has a limited amount of pre-programmed sats on it, I've only been on 28.2 and Hotbird 13, I tried to get Eueteslat 2c I think it is 53.5 w last week for FTA footie but found I had to input the sat details I got as far as naming the sat but didn't know or should I say understand what to do next, I've since found out the dish is a bit to small for this.
I also bought today, the Fortec offer 90cm from Maplin for whats its worth and plan to install this in the next few weeks so I look at other FTA sats at home........ once I've laid 40 3ft x 2ft slabs! for the wife of course and only if i can still stand! so this is a hurdle I'm trying to get over if you can help

Thanks again

The Beta has a blind scan facility. It doesn't need to know anything at all to run it apart from the LNB setting, which should be the same as all the other sats. It scans in all the transponders and channels itself.( Takes a while though)
All you need to do, is add the new sat, if its not already there, and blind scan.

Sorry I've already posted details about my new receiver on another thread, its a Lifeline II so I guess there is a mix of receivers available with this deal. So I dont have to enter anything to get a sat just do a blind scan, sorry I'm even more confused.

Thanks
