Yes, You won't find them in PC world.

I only have experience of 2 receivers, the first was the Fortec Beta from Maplin, but it had problems, and the other the TM1000D super (Technomate). Both are very easy to use however. The TM1000D super is probably one of the most popular receivers and will do everything you want. You can can get them from £59 if you search around the net.
the site sponsor does them too I believe, see if you can cut a deal with him.

Or the very similar TM5200D USB, I think that is about sixty odd, but has a USB port for an external HDD for recording.

Help, im trying to sort out my dads new tv...He has a sky dish up otside and a cable in through the wall into the sitting room but no digibox,(im looking on ebay) if i get a receiver/cables/remote control, will he get the free channels of is there any thing else i need?

Nah - you just need to choose between a Sky box, a Freesat box or a FTA sat box.

Sky and Freesat have the best epg's. Sky has more channels even when used as an FTA box although theres a lot of dross cluttering up the nether regions of the epg

An fta box gives you more flexibility but can be a bit of a nuisance to keep up to date as most dont track technical changes on the channels (Sky and Freesat boxes do)
