tonight was gonna watch the football and couldn't be bothered so got my dish to 30west and had lyngsat open and thought lets see what else is past 30west
so i had a look and 43, 45west came in very strong some weird chinese channel on 45west cctv, the autism channel on 43west nothing much there but with the dish pointing quite low i thought houses that face onto my back garden would block these but no then i saw 58west has a europe beam and surely not can get this and surprised i did with good signal not bad for a dish aligned on hotbird using usals can anyone else get this far as i thought it was 42east - 45west ? wod |

That's excellent wod
![]() How far you can go depends on how clear a view you have got. It's usually only possible to 45 degrees odd because there's stuff in the way for most of us, but if you have a clear view, presumably you could go very close to the horizon, which is nearer 70 degrees I belive. Robbo

Theoretically its about 70 degrees east and west of your location, but its very dependant on what your local horizon is like

that would be nice, that austrian thomas riegler on dr dish tv he gets around to 80east and 50west i think
was interesting to see 78east thaicom 2 sat on cband in his report but not everyone has a 4.5m andrews dish what would be the best location living near the sea as the view would be clear ? |

There's one more you might be able to get Wod, there's a data transponder pointing at Europe on 61°W, 12561V, 27000. It's 40% on my 80cm dish and SS2, anything further west isn't pointing this way.

Hi wod
re:"can anyone else get this far as i thought it was 42east - 45west ? wod " There is cubavision and an indian guru channel and sometimes some chinese channel on 58west.I have noticed the odd footy feed on the BT channels. As mentioned by "AceB" there is a data channel on 61west, quite strong here. 45west has two chinese channels, both very strong. 42west is mostly god slot channels. Now let's see what you get in the easterly direction. I'm now getting 57east since moving my dish a bit to the west. Waiting for the trees to shed their leaves to see if I can get anything off of 62east, but I think that the houses behind the trees will be in the way. regards BH |

The Data transponder on 61w comes in strong here on my 1.2m andrews and there is a test card on another transponder on there at the moment but on the western satellites c-band is where all the fun is at

no chance on anything after 45east as a tree is in the way think my dish is too small aswell
so 45east to 58west is rather good now just need the bottle to get a 1.2m gibby up, test the neighbours but one to the right works for council though |
