Default S1003/12 & SL65/12 ALI B1 STM29W160EB 6pin Jtag

After lots of trial and error and help from JBVID, posts here and on Sat-ULC I've manged to patch this receiver. I've attached instructions and all the necessary files. The flash is Montarbo's mod of Truman 1.3.76 Vampire using the original remote and with extra satellites added. The S1003/12 has no RS232 socket so this is the only way to flash it. It also works for Jtag on the SL65/12 with the same chipset.

hope this helps others save duplicating all the efoort.

Oops Sorry, my mistake. It's on Sat ULC if anyone wants it.

Apologies

No worries m8, telling folk where to find it is fine (as long as the link isn't live)

We just can't host files on here

I've updated the flash file on Sat-ULC to Andysly's modified 1.3.78 Truman file with fixes for the remote and channel scan and the addition of loads of satellites/transonders for scanning. Before backing it up as the Wholeflash bin file for loading by Jtag I scanned the satellites I use from the UK. Note that this has filled the channel capacity, so if you need to add channels you'll need to delete some. If you don't use the radio you can clear a lot of these out to make space.

Incidentally I looked into whether you could install the .abs file relabelled as a .Bin file but a hex comparison shows that it has changed when you read it back via Jtag

hey twojags!

thank u for ur great tutorial!
i build the cable made a backup and so on and everything works BUT when i want to flashwholeflash he erases the flash and starts flasing but it never goes over 0% even when i wait 5 hours! it goes trough and says it's writing at 023f3455 and so on and some lines later there are only 000000000 00000000s

don't know what I'm doing wrong :/
it is your first version with truman 1.3.76 inside. the ulc is offline could u send me a pm where i can find the new version and a solution for my problem?!

would be very great i don't know what i'm doing wrong...

If it erases the 35 blocks you should be on the right lines. Are you using my original zip file with flaps and the edited command lines? Is your box definitely an Ali B1 with the STM29W160EB chipset? If so try running the erasewholeflash.bat again and then the flashwholeflash.bat again. It's normal for it to show it writing just zeros at some points in the process but it shouldn't stick at 0% for 5 hours. I have sometimes had it stop at part erase but a re run has always fixed it.

I got told off for posting the link to the latest file here but you'll find it on Maidens Satboard or the test area of sat ulc. Get back to me if you're still having problems.

regards

Twojags

hello

i found the problem i think: not the same memory.. I've got

SPANSION S29AL016D70TF102

Well I found in the sat-ulc forum someone else who has that memory and successfully patched his 1003 but when i tried nothing worked anymore.. i think i killed my jtag cable but for today it's enough for me :/ don't want to start soldering now...

but for everybody with the spanision memory the entry out of the sat-ulc forum:

SL 35/1CI ALi M3329B1
=====================
Flash: SPANSION S29AL016D70TF102
Probe: *** Found a AMD 29lv160DB 1Mx16 BotB (2MB) Flash Chip ***
Flash Switch: /FC:04

good evening.

If it's coming up with that chipset try editing the command line in flashwholeflash.bat to FC:04 instead of FC:46

Cheers
Twojags

Alternatively just open notepad and cut and paste the following line then save it as e.g Writewholeflash.bat then run it

flaps -flash:wholeflash /nodma /alienable /byte /fast /skipdetect /instrlen:5 /xeloa /fc:04
