Hi,
My TM7755 was working fine on all satellites until I accidentally pressed delete satellite instead of unlock satellite while trying to access Hotbird. That left me stuck on a channel and nothing that I did would shift it from that channel. TM told me to do a firmware update which would clear the channel lock. I downloaded the latest TM loader and software and loaded the software. It did indeed clear the channel lock. However things have not gone from bad to worse. I have great difficulty in getting a signal quality reading even when on the satellite. EG I ended up getting a picture on Thor with a signal quality and strength reading to the right of the channel display. When I jumper to the search options on the menu the saltellite quality was almost non existant 10%. So channel clearing but no signal quality on the search screens. I have tried : Installing the software 4 times restoring factory settings after each load. Using Usals to locate the satellites but it only finds a couple and still no signal quality registered. The fine tune on the satellite search screen, by nudging the dish right or left using the remote control, does not appear to work now. i.e. after the last factory settings restore I did get 85% signal strength and 50% quality. I would normally nudge the dish slightly East or West until I got the best strength / quality readings, then save the settings. However no matter how far in either direction I nudged the dish the readings did not change (improve or get worse). This means that I cannot lock in on the satellite to get the best picture. It used be easy previously. Most frustrating as I cannot appear to get Hotbird back and I have no idea when I am on the satellite other than by the signal strength readings. The dish and LNB have not been touched since they worked well before I deleted the sattellite by accident. I have tried different LNB settings but no success. I have a 1mtre Funke dish and a Motek motor with a titanium .2db LNB. Any suggestions gratefully received. Sat_Man |

Hi,
Just a quicky, Have you entered your latititude and longitude into the receiver, as you are using USALS? I would imagine that your motorised settings would have got forgotton after a factory reset. ![]() Robbo |

Yes, I have entered the Latitude and Longtitude into the TM. It finds Thor and sometimes Hotbird but with poor quality compared to usual. As I said previously when I then move to Auto Search to fine tune the signal quality back to the 80s that I used to get, the signal quality does not change when I nudge the dish West. It used to fluctuate as I used the remote control to nudge the dish using the remote control East or West until the strongest signal was achieved. It will not do that now. So I am getting Thor but pixillated as I am slighltly off line and I get Hotbird when I first 'Restore Factory Settings' again poor signal. Then when I try to nudge the dish slightly to improve signal I lose Hotbird and cannot seem to get it back unless I do another restore.
I keep trying software reloads then Restore Factory Settings in the hope that I can get it back to when I could fine tune the key signal strength to optimum. What get me is that sometimes (after a Factory Settings Restore) It shows about 50% signal quality with 85% strength then when I try to up the quality it dissappears from the bar in 'Auto Update' and I cannot get it back unless I do another factory settings restore. Signal strength is always in the 85% + on both Thor and Hotbird (when I get it). Strange and frustrating but I know that the motor, dish and LNB were OK before I accidentally deleted Hotbird when locked the system way back when my problems began. Any suggestions welcome. |
