Default 1500CI or 7755

Hi,

New to all this at moment. I currently have sky hd and also SKY + But I am looking to also adding some hotbird channels using a 80cm fixed dish (not motor at moment). What receiver would you recommend as a starter ?? I have surfed the net and found at resonable price the 1500CI and the 7755. Which is the best?? Both I believe can be patched easily. PLease advise

Many Thanks

As far as I can tell, the 1000 series are better supported than the 7000 series. So, in that respect, I would say the 1500CI, although the TM1000D would do the job if you didnt need ( and would never need) the CAM and card slot.
Instead of the TM1000D, the 5200D might be a better option, as it has a larger channel storage, and has a USB port that can be used for data transfer via a memory stick, and for connection of an external hardrive for PVR capability.

The TM1000D and the TM5200D are about the same price, the 1500ci is about £30 more.

The other option is the TM6800 or TM6900, they are both HD receivers (I note you have Sky HD). They don't have the blind scan but are both easily patchable and have the USB port.
