Distorted picture and jumpy sound PLEASE HELP!

I bought my new box (eurovox max 08) box from ebay at the beginning of October and it set up fine (thanks to the threads i read on here). I have not done anything to it since but it has begun to play up with the picture freezing on screen, picture distorting and the sound jumping so that most channels are now unwatchable. I have done a full reset and re scanned but this has not improved anything. If I turn the box off at the wall and then back on again it is ok for a few minutes but then seems to go downhill shortly after. I have this attached through my main ntl cable with no splitter so thought signal should be ok. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Try the latest beta firmware for the Max V 24/10/07 as it has a booster option.

I had the exact same problem! My box played fine for about 3 weeks then after that it would only play for an hour & the channels would become jumpy & unrecognisable, sound squeeky & awful! I bought myself a booster from argos & it works a treat for me! My signal was going from 80 down to 8 in a matter of an hour, now it stays around 70-80! I'm well pleased.

got sort of a similar problem, well not me but my mate. He has eurovox 3 bought in 2007. He has 5 channels which have freezing picture and jumping sound. Sky Sports 2 being 1 of them although his other sky sports channels are fine, a couple of the discovery channels are also like this. He has done auto and power scans, this makes no difference. It seems strange that all his other channels are fine but 5 are like this.It`s as if they are slightly off frequency.

Anyone with a similar problem, incidentally we are in the Glasgow area.?

Is it a power booster problem, any info appreciated

I had exactly the same problem, it sorted itself out when I updated to the Kuro_15_10_07 firmware. Try updating your firmware and it should hopefully fix your problem.

Just read yr msg - I have been having all sorts of problems with my box for 4 weeks now! 1st kepy flashing up msgs like 'no transponder' & 'no signal' After resetting to factory settings and doing a power scan I have some channels but not BBC nor ITV. can you pls tell me where I can get the Kuro_15_10_07 firmware and I will try this out. I must admit I am using tw cable at new house and not yet signed up!! cud this b the problem?
