I knew that you would catch up eventually
![]() There was a disscusion a while ago on another forum, about the position of the feedhorn on the arm of the 55cm Fibo's. It looked like the early ones were like yours and one of mine, but the later ones were 15mm further from the sub-reflector, like Likvid's. This is also the same distance as the 90cm one, this makes sense because the sub-reflector is common to the 55cm & 90cm dishes and so has the same focal distance. Looking at your pics. it occured to me that they may have had to move the feedhorn forward to accomodate the LNB's, that they used at the time. ![]() I have experimented a little with positions of the feedhorn, I could not detect any difference in performance betwween the two positions. I put mine at the greater distance, on the premise that it would be less obstructive to the beam pattern from the main reflector, and also matched the later production.

Thanks for the info, it saves me fiddling with the position of the feed!
I just don't have the room for that little Greg John, any way don't like the colour, and could never afford the cost of a re-spray

Welcome to the club...
You should bench the dish as soon as you can, it performed equal to my Triax 78cm dish. @jasper Yes the LNB can be changed, the dish was designed when you needed a WR-75 LNB with a ferotor which made the whole kit a bit long. The feedhorn is just a standard C120 flange where you can install any Universal LNB you like. |
