Hi Wizard Techies,

I've been in a new house for two years and have had Sky in throughout that time. My dish is situated on a low wall behind my garage and the cable comes in underground. A few months ago my picture started to freeze occasionally and then I would get a message saying no signal was being received. The dish has not moved and the weather has never been a factor. I've followed all the usual advice about switching off etc. etc but id does not help. The thing is that when the picture is there the signal test shows a high reading then all of a sudden the picture goes then returns intermittently. The only (remote) thing I can think of is that I live next to a police station. Could the police signals be interfering with my signal from the satellite?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

As far as i know the police radio could but shouldn't interfere. Its more likely to be a faulty connection from the dish to the box. You need to check the connections from the LNB at the end of the dish arm and to the back of the box. ther is the possibility that the cable has water ingress more so if its under ground. it could also be a faulty LNB or sky box, but check the simple and cheep things first. do you have a friend with sky? if so take your box round to them and see if it works, and borrow ther box to see if it works in your house.
