Default Current Images 1st November 2007

Its a while since we had an update on images. I currently have the following images on USB stick in my 7000S:

Colosseum 1.0
EDG 1.0
Gemini 4.1
Nabilosat Darkstar
Nemesis 2.00 (Now EDG Nemesis3.2)
Satandream V6
DS V 3.4

They all work very well and I only have them all to keep my hand in with file manipulation. Each image has its own file arrangement and peculiarities.

I did some time ago upgrade from Colosseum 1.0 to 1.1 but found that I did not like it as much so went back to version 1.0.

All of the 7000 images can be used in a 7020 on usb stick multiboot if a 7020 image is not available. However, dont try putting a 7000 image in a 7020 flash.

7000 images work very well in multiboot on a 7020 as JDF says, but you lose the audio if you are using the rf aerial connection like I do as the 7000 doesnt have this fitted.

I've found that my favorites come up as "removed service" when i use a 7000 image on my 7020. I'm guessing it may be something to do with the file structure between the two image types that may prevent the favorites from a 7020 image transfering over to a 7000 image when selecting "Smart settings Copy from active image" when installing the image with Flashwizard

Because of this i now wait until the image has been released for the 7020 rather than using a 7000 image on multiboot.

Currently using what the picture shows below

Your images are some of the ones i use and i agree 7000 images can be put on my 7020 4Gb USB without problems.

I personally like EDG (latest version) all the emus work seamlessly, and also colosseum (both with extra URL's of course). What was problem with 1.1 or was it just personal choice?
Why dont you use PLi? (versatility with emu / CS changes is very helpful)
Also Mundini Monster works fine together with latest Puntal2 Special, Dream of Pirates and Newcastle is vastly improved.

Just my current preferences.

EDG 1.1 introduced some bugs that were not in V1 so I tried it and deleted it. EDG have now combined with Nemesis and their EDG-Nemesis image is good. I have tried all the others and if I dont find that I prefer then to my existing images then I just delete them.

Thanks for your comments.

Unfortunately I dont have your experience with DB so i have about 22 images in my USB that i revisit as my competance improves (hence my getting to like EDG and Colosseum).
From time to time i delete some images because i've found them wanting (eg Satlinux, Polarlight etc.) but feel my innexperience may miss some inbuilt quality.

I have an Oozoon image in the flash of my DB7020 but am at a loss to understand the value of the basic images (say Boxman, Borisi, Ooozoon etc). What is their purpose? How do they differ from each other?

Your opinion would be appreciated

Hi all
Does that flash wizzard pro work on a 7000s and does it install and set up multi boot images for you?
Allways fancied trying that coz there never seems to be enough room when you can't put var on usb.
Havn't updated my image for ages, last year I think.
Also how big a usb stick will work on my 7000s? I've been using a 64mb lexar up to now.

Cheers

yes Flashwizard works fine. I use a 256MB usb stick but some guys use 1MB or more.

Multiboot is installed by Flashwizard when you first try to put an image on usb.
