Hi Robbo ,

I have found a second hand TM1000D FTA with a dish and LNB all inclusive
€ 115:00 . The items not present are sat cable and a card reader , is this a problem ?

Not at all, The FTA channels do not require a card reader, wf100 cable is about UK£0.50 per metre, and the F-connectors cost pennies. What size dish is it?
You will also need a wall mount, or stand. (wall mount approx UK£15)

You don't need a card reader for the FTA channels. Like the TMs a card reader can be purchased later if needed.

A good cable to buy is satellite quality cable that has a copper braid and copper foil, such as wf100 ( foam dielectric) or CT100( or equivalent).

You are also going to need 2x F-connectors ( get a few spares) and some self almagamating tape. ( This tape is not sticky, but welds to itself, when you stretch it a bit)

It doesn't look like they do any cable at that Berlin shop.

Other than that, your equipment list looks OK.

I thought you had seen a second hand unit?

EDIT, just spotted some cable
Koaxkabel KH21 85dB 25m-Ring, it should be OK, the 6.8mm F-conns are only 0.09 each

(F-stecker 6,8). And they sell rubber boots, so you won't need the tape

I think the dish I have is equivalent to approx that size, but I'm in the UK,
I do sometimes lose signal though in really bad rain.

The signal drops off pretty quick outside the UK, so it depends exactly where you are in the Netherlands, it might be OK in the east, but probably not in the west.
