right here we go .. (sorry if its in the wrong place)
ive just replaced my trusty echostar dsb-808 2ci .. today, with a manhatten plaza xt-cm. a HD rx would be nice .. but funds as always put a damper on that for now. anyhow .. the manual that is supplied is real bad. its a good job ive learnt some of the common stuff on my echostar. to cut to the chase .. my Q. is .. after u have done the initial scan .. then made up a favorites list .. is there a way of organising the favorites .. (easily). the only way i can see is to save the stations in some sort of order as u go.!! this is a rreal pain. it seems that the technomate has a function for sorting. have i made another blunder? .. the rx itself seems very good. the picture is reasonable on our lcd tv .. the sig to noise is slightly better id say .. & the pics look less smeary .. but then .. its early days .. new broom & all that .. hi hi. ok .. nough said . thanks for any help in advance. russ ps. the set up .. for those techie heads .. huh .. (all home bodged up ) 2xlnb on 1mtr dish & home made brackets astra1 & hotbird. 1xlnb for astra2 on 60cm dish. 4way disec switcher .. location s.london uk. no pre-amps or anything special .. oh have got a cheeep signal meter ( dont laugh .. 2nd thoughts .. yeah why not ) .. no cams as yet .. must get round to trying one out in the not to distant future. will need some help here too .. complete novice at cams. wanna pic? .. stay tuned. |

Hi,
The TM1000 series is a not too bad setting the favourites, you just go to set favourites in the setup menu, then go round putting a little red heart next to the channels you want as favourites. To move channels around the epg is a bit of a pain though. The main advantage of the TM1000 series is the availability of well supported patches, so no CAM needed at the moment. You might be able to get a p@tch for your receiver too, have a look on the A l s a t forum, there might be one on there. To save bothering with CAMS etc. Also take a look in the CAMs section:- http://www.techwatch.co.uk/forums/ca...ogrammers.html The Diablo seems to be one of the better supported at the moment. Robbo |

Image hosted with 4FreeImageHost.com http://www.4freeimagehost.com/show.php?i=6aecebd3f1fe.jpg have a laugh at the clamps .. http://www.4freeimagehost.com/show.php?i=0c93982822f2.jpg and finally .. i took a quick snap of the dishes from this angle .. thanks for that.
well ive been another 3hrs+ trying to figure this rx out with no joy. i guess the only way organise a fav list is to have more smaller groups of favs! (still in random order!) crazy. i think ill abandon this & try to find out about what this patching is all about. dunno if the guy in the shop would swap the reciever for a technomate instead. ho hum. ![]() |

I'm not sure if you change the order of the channels in the favourites on the TM either, you can rename the categories though. I tend not to use favourites anyway, I only have one satellite selected at a time, and just have the channels in the epg set up in the order I like. You can also view them in alphabetical, TP, or CAS order. You might have something similar on the Manhattan

yeah .. u know its kinda like .. u buy some electronic thing .. & the manufactures have arranged it in a certain way .. over time u get used to it. then u fancy a change .. or in my case the echostar is starting to die .. & a new device is arranged somewhat different. = headache! cant say brain-ache .. wot brain!
ive got a couple of ham radio rigs here .. a icom 208 & yaesu ft857 .. & the menus are completely diff. out of which i find the yaesu easier. fun aint it. |

thought id just end this post.
the manhatten i sent back ... & now its got lost in the post !!!! 4weeks .. gone ... ??? ![]() so anyhow i did go n buy a TM1500 super ci+. apart from the strange eyeball looking thing on the front ... this is more like my old echostar !! .. ive got hold of a nice n easy program to sort fav lists on the pc. a click & all the favs are in A-Z order .. fab. the menu backgnds are in a >blue< .. as 99% of everything these days (in the old days green was the in color) .. anyhow not too bad .. but easy to navigate. with 3 lnb,s ive filled up the 5000 memories .. dont need all these but its curiosity ... or something. the front end seems sensitive ... no pic break up as such YET. even managed Eutelsat 16*E with a 60cm dish & ULNB on a spare switcher socket .. got 30+cnls in the clear .. but cant expect a lot more with that size dish. the Q of sig is zooming up n dwn though .. fingers crossed .. so far so good. ![]() .
